North East clubs looking at Ghana winger

Middlesbrough and Sunderland are both reportedly in discussions with Aelsunds winger Edwin Gyasi.

Both Championship teams are eager to strengthen when the January transfer window opens and the pair are set to do battle for Ghana international Gyasi who has been at the Norwegian outfit since 2016.

The 26-year-old, who can also play as a striker, scored six league goals this season, matching his tally from the previous campaign, and his impressive performances are also said to have caught the attention of Premier League strugglers West Brom.

Aelsunds, who were relegated from Norway’s top flight this term, are said to be willing to sell the Dutch-born star and would accept an initial £600,000 with add-ons.

Boro and the Black Cats are reportedly in advanced talks with Gyasi and want to wrap up a deal at the start of January.
