Martin Braithwaite was bought by Boro from Toulouse in order to bolster the attack, However his spell at the Riverside didn’t last very long.
Just six months after his arrival from Ligue 1, the Danish international returned to France on loan at Bordeaux.
He is yet to have an impact on the pitch but is apparently settling in well at his new club where he wouldn’t mind his stay to continue beyond this season if possible.
Braithwaite spoke to French station GOLDFM over the weekend and stated :
“I want to stay here, because I can see there are good players, in a very good club. So I see myself carrying on, because I feel very good here, well integrated, but it’s easy because everyone is so nice”.
Loaned from Boro with a view to buy, there’s every chance Bordeaux could trigger that clause, which could see Boro possibly recoup €7m of the €10m they originally paid.
During his time at The Riverside, Braithwaite scored six goals and picked up two assists in 21 appearances in all competitions.
He is yet to find the back of the net in his first six games for his new club, starting just three of them.
